Nice Guys Always Finish Last

So, heard this theory that Light became the Shinigami that asks Ryuk to tell him a story in Death Note: Relight, and the reasoning seems pretty interesting. 

Do I believe the theory? Well, actually, yeah, in the sense I like the idea, because it means that the story may continue. 

But, I bow to writer's canon as well, but they have not commented on it yet.
